Illuminated sign, automatically switches when engaged or vacant

Our LUMOS vacant / engaged sign is the perfect solution to avoid queues around toilet areas or to show whether a meeting room is in use or not.  

Display this illuminated sign above facilities or meeting rooms and when someone opens / closes the door the sign will be triggered and will change colour depending on whether the room / toilet is in use or not.  When in use, the sign will glow red, when available, the sign will glow green. 

The Lumos square sign fitting projects LED light into the laser engraved acrylic sign, giving a eye catching, modern and premium look.

There are three sensor options to change the light colour (more details below)

• Wall Switch - Manually control the lights from a wall switch
• Latch Switch - A switch that fits to the door latch and will change when the door latch is open / closed
• Microwave Sensor - Automatically sensors whether someone is in the room and will change the lighting accordingly 

You can choose from two of our popular icon designs, MODO or ICON with accompanying text.  If you wish to have something different engraved on the sign just get in touch. 

The life rating of the LED's is 50,000 hours, the ultra bright 1W Luxeon LED's are 'fit & forget' devices. Operating on low voltage DC, the electronic driver can be positioned in an accessible location, up to 4 metres from the fitting. Full working instructions supplied.

This Lumos fitting can be fitted in external locations as it is fully weatherproofed for external signs. This system also fits with any environmentally friendly policies due to their very low power consumption.

Micro-wave sensor option :

This option would be supplied with a micro-wave proximity sensor that will sense movement through the door and switch illumination of the sign from Green (Vacant) to Red (Engaged)

The microwave sensor can be adjusted with a "time delay" controlling the switching from green to red and back to green. Also it is easy to adjust the sensitivity of the triggering so that it can be adjusted for different locations and different rooms. This proximity sensor is triggered with movement and not body heat, this is a more reliable sensor for this type of application for room signs.

Micro-switch sensor option :

This option is supplied with a door latch with an inbuilt micro-switch.  As the catch is operated the illumination will switch from Green (Vacant) to Red (Engaged), this is a more cost effective solution but will involve changing the lock mechanism of the door

Please note: This product will only work with 240V due to the relays that are used.  If you are outside of the UK (USA, Canada, etc) this product may not be appropriate.
